The U.S. News & World Report recently ranked UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Education 7th among top schools of education in the United States (third among all public institutions).[5] The 2011 rankings currently place the school at rank 12 (seventh among all public institutions).[6] The recent drop in rankings may be attributed to substantial program cuts that the Graduate School of Education has sustained over the past two years.[7]
